The family-friendly Portland Chapter of the Oregon Nordic Club began in 1968 to promote the values of cross country skiing. Since then, we've grown into a group of friends who telemark, hike, camp, paddle and bike on monthly outings. We love spending outdoor time together in the Northwest forests, mountains, and in-town -- year-round! We are family friendly. A growing group of parents and kids (of all ages) meet to ski, hike and bike. In the past, we've hosted one-day x-country ski lessons and …

We are a laid back, fun bunch of people who like to enjoy the Mountain. Snowboarders, Skiers, Telemarkers, Cross Country Skiers, or Mono-boarders are all welcome to join in on the FUN! I was a snowboard/ski instructor last year and in past years, and wanted to find a way to get people up on the mountain. Join MOAB to connect with other fun and outdoor loving 50+ year old Mountain Bikers, DH and XC Skiers, and Hikers, Canoers and Kayakers. If you want to have fun with Boomers in the Portland area who love outdoor activities, give MOAB a shot! This group is run totally by the members. Eachindividual event organizer and those attending make the determination of how things will function.

We do outdoor activities year round for all skill levels; from 4 mile strolls to 20 mile expeditions; summer camping to winter snow shoeing and some pretty soggy hikes in between. All for the enjoyment of hiking, bein …

He has already been out for a walk in the snow, the Gorge, and we take him for daily walks in our BOB. Before I was pregnant, my husband and I could be found on week long hikes, kayaking, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sailing in our little sailboat. I had dreams of learning to kiteboard and telemark. Now, I find it very difficult to take my …
